Moving the production plan from Excel into the system – connected directly to each cutting table and sewing line
SmartBiz recently held a training session on the Smart Production Management System for the planning and production teams of one of the largest garment manufacturers in northern Vietnam.
The training focused on digitalizing and connecting the entire process from planning to actual production in one system.
The Planning department learned how to create the master production plan, manage order information and create packing lists for shipment directly in the system.
From the established plan, the Production department can receive the data and create detailed manufacturing orders for each cutting table and each sewing line, keeping the plan and actual production tightly linked and reducing manual data entry or manual communication between departments.
Putting all data on a unified platform lets departments collaborate on the same data source and update information and production progress almost instantly. Managers can quickly track order status, plan progress and execution at each stage without waiting for end-of-day data consolidation.
At the same time, data generated during operations is recorded and consolidated automatically by the system, significantly reducing the time spent preparing, reconciling and consolidating reports, limiting data discrepancies and improving coordination between departments.
